What this site is

The International Student Hub is a student-led website built by Muhammad Haseeb Arshad. It brings public University of Alberta information into one clearer starting point for international students.

This is not an official University of Alberta service desk, and it is not a replacement for official university, government, medical, legal, immigration, or emergency guidance.

How it works

  1. 1

    Why it exists

International students often have to search across many separate pages to answer urgent, practical, or high-stakes questions. This site explores whether a more student-centred navigation hub can reduce that friction.

  2. 2

    How to use it

Start with the category cards, FAQ, Mental Health page, or search. When a decision depends on official rules, follow the linked source page and verify the current information there.

    Browse the FAQ
  3. 3

    Not an official service desk

This is not a replacement for official university, government, medical, legal, immigration or emergency guidance. Where a decision carries real consequences, the official body is the authority, not this site.

  4. 4

    Always follow the source

When a decision depends on official rules, follow the linked source page and verify the current information there. Everything here is dated and sourced so you can check it.

  5. 5

    It changes with your feedback

Page structure, labels, content and navigation evolve based on student feedback and research findings. If something is missing, wrong or hard to find, saying so is what fixes it.

    Give feedback

Who built it

Not a team, and not a university department. One student, and a great many hours. Every resource on this site was found the slow way: the office that turns out to be the wrong office, the page that moved without leaving a forwarding address, the answer that only surfaces after the third person you ask.

That searching is the actual work, and it is the part nobody should have to do twice. What took hours to track down is collected here so that it takes you a minute. If something is wrong, out of date or hard to find, saying so is what gets it changed.

Maintenance and updates are handled by one student, so a correction can take a little time to appear. Everything reported does get read, so please be patient.
